The ring of the shop bell, a sound so familiar in the popular shop that Sovann didn’t even look up from his ledger, continuing his notes. He listened to the noise as the customer shuffled around, noting the noises of displeasure as they did so.

Oh dear, perhaps this would be a difficult one.

Sure enough, there was soon the smack of a book being laid upon his counter. “Oh come on Sovann, you know this item is worth a hundred gems at best.”

The shopkeeper finally glanced up from the ledger, disgruntled, and pushed his glasses up his snout gently with a single claw.

“What does the price tag say?” He asked, his tone level.

“One hundred and fifty but-”

“Then the price is one hundred and fifty.” He stated simply.

“For this piece of trash? Are you serious- like I said you’d barely get a hundred for-”

The scrape of Sovann’s stool cut the customer off as he stood, glaring through his spectacles at the customer and reaching to the side of the counter to point to an old, worn sign.

‘No haggling, bartering, cheating or shenanigans’

“Can you read?” Sovann asked.

“Duh…” The customer grumbled, their bluster gone.

“Then buy your book, or beat it.”

Sovann is a straightforward, no-nonsense kind of person. They don’t take kindly to others trying to charm or manipulate them in any way - they have a talent to see through any kind of falsehood. They are incredibly level-headed, do not anger easily, and pride themself on being fair.  Despite their initial stand-offish behaviour, Sovann can be an incredible friend to those genuine enough to earn their trust.

They are the local shopkeeper, and are well known for their chain of shops across Safirea, with the flagship, that they still personally run daily, in Aurelixis. Their store is where you can get a variety of day to day items. Their stock is fairly consistent, always making sure the basics are available to any Genekit who has the means to purchase them. Bartering, or trying to charm them into giving you a cheaper price, is a big no-no in their eyes - try it, and face their disappointed stare at your own risk.
