When Rolan was born, he looked a lot more like his other parent than his father. His father looked more dog-like, and his other parent, according to his father, was far more butterfly-like, and in his younger years, Rolan was much more like this. However as he grew older, his strong relationship with his father meant that he began to look more and more like him. He lost his antennae, and gained long, thick fluff like his father. His ears ang cheeks puffed out and soon enough, his colours may match his butterfly-like parent but his traits were a near perfect match of his fathers.
He felt quite bad about this, though it seemed to happen outside of his control. He knew his father always viewed him as the thing left of his late spouse, but his father was always been quick to reassure Rolan that how his traits manifest and what feels the most like him is what is important. Plus Rolan looking a lot like his father made his dad proud. Rolan became proud of this, taking pride in his traits, especially after his father passed away. He is not thrilled that he is a beautiful combination of both of his late parents, the perfect mosaic!
